Alleged Chupacabra Bodies

What we seem to be discovering in these photos from both Asia and the Americas is an almost hairless fox like carnivore that is clearly nocturnal.  It also will be identified as a coyote or a fox if it is not captured or killed.  The odd features such as the jumping legs are an adaptation to catching rabbits and may be recent from canine antecedents.

As I have posted before, nocturnal creatures have been very difficult to identify or even collect.  The most famous happens to be Bigfoot or more correctly the Sasquatch.  It competes directly with cougars who also are just as rarely spotted.  The only difference between cougars and sasquatches is that a pack of dogs are able to tree a cougar so a human can shoot it.  Also the Sasquatch is an omnivore and much less likely to interact.

We now have this particular creature and first off, it is not a Chupacabra.  The Chupacabra proper appears to be a nocturnal vampire bat that is the size of a large bird. And is the spitting image of a gargoyle.

This animal appears to be fox like.  There is no evidence given yet on vampire equipment and it is way too small to tackle large animals.  That it is caught raiding the chicken coop is predictable.  That it got nailed on a pitch fork is standard fates for skunks and weasels no also raid chicken coops.

This year we have now collected two examples.  Please let us have these animals properly described for the literature and plausibly identified.  So far it looks like a fox that has evolved jumping legs to feed of the rabbit population.  I hope no one insists on calling it a Chupacabra.

Mysterious animal chupacabra killed in Ukrainian Chernigov region
Residents of the Ukrainian Chernigov region have killed an offspring of an animal unknown to vets but rumored as chupacabra.
Village women from Chemer spotted a couple of strange beings on the streets near their plots, and a man killed one of the animals with a pitchfork, the UNIAN news agency said on Thursday citing local media.

Ukrainian media described the dead animal as resembling a hairless fox. The creature had a long tail and sharp canine teeth. However it moved like a kangaroo jumping on its hind feet, local residents said.
The autopsy of the bizarre creature has shown that it had lived on mulberries.

The veterinary administration of the Chernigov region confirmed the strange find. "Several photographs were handed to us. We cannot indentify the animal exactly from the pictures, but it is either a mutant or an interspecies hybrid," a spokesman for the administration said.
Ukrainian residents have repeatedly complained about attacks on small animals, namely chickens and rabbits, allegedly committed by chupacabras.

The word "chupacabra" comes from Spanish; it can be literally translated as "goat sucker." This word became popular in the 1970s-1990s after a series of attacks on livestock in Puerto Rico, allegedly committed by the bizarre creatures.

The chupacabras are described as animals whose appearance combines features of a kangaroo, a reptile, a coyote and an alien.
